Indonesian Information Ministry Will Block X aka Twitter, Due To Dangerous Content Regulation By Elon Musk  

INDOTRENDS.ID - The Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo) is currently reviewing whether to block social media X, aka Twitter. This is the impact of a policy that allows uploading pornographic content on the platform.

They also stated that blocking could no longer be done per content in the application. So, like it or not, Elon Musk's social media platform will be blocked from Indonesia.

"I will study this later. This will definitely be blocked if it is allowed like this. That's why we are studying it," said Director General of Information Applications at the Ministry of Communication and Information, Semuel Abrijani Pangerapan, in Jakarta, Friday 14 June 2024.

He said that his party would hold a press conference in the near future to announce the steps the government would take regarding X or Twitter's policy regarding pornographic content.

Semuel Abrijani Pangerapan also admitted that the circulation of pornographic content on X was very massive. His party has asked the platform to remove adult content so that the digital space remains healthy.

"We wrote that there is pornographic content, please take it down. There are already hundreds of thousands in X, we found a lot of it, the most is there," he said.
