INDOTRENDS.ID - Indonesian Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto expressed Indonesia's commitment to helping the United States (US) handle the conflict between Palestine and colonial Israel.
This was said directly to the US Minister of Foreign Affairs, Antony Blinken, in Amman, Jordan, after they both attended a high-level conference (Summit) regarding the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
The contents of Prabowo and Blinken's meeting were explained by the Head of the Public Relations Bureau of the Secretariat General of the Indonesian Ministry of Defense, Brigadier General TNI Edwin Adrian Sumantha.
In the bilateral meeting, Prabowo and Blinken discussed strategies for realizing a lasting ceasefire in Gaza, Tuesday, June 11 2024.

Minister of Defense Prabowo also conveyed Indonesia's commitment to working with mediator countries that are currently seeking peace between Palestine and Israeli occupation, including the US, Egypt and Qatar.
"Indonesia is ready to work with the United States, Egypt and Qatar to ensure negotiations continue and realize a permanent ceasefire, just and lasting peace in Palestine. An immediate, full and comprehensive ceasefire is very important to revive the peace process," said the Minister of Defense to Blinken.
Blinken then responded to Prabowo with thanks. Apart from Middle East tensions, US President Joe Biden's right-hand man also emphasized the US's commitment to immediately implementing the US-Indonesia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
